A Telstra Mobile Code, also known as a QR Code, is like a barcode that can be read by a compatible Telstra 3G or Next G™ mobile. Telstra Mobile Codes offer a cool new way to quickly access mobile websites rather than typing long web addresses when you’re out and about.

Where might you find a Telstra Mobile Code? Well, you could find one on a poster for the latest blockbuster movie, letting you view the trailer on your mobile phone. Using a Telstra Next G™ mobile, simply click on the MyPlace icon, and select the Scan Code option from the MyPlace menu. Then aim the mobile’s camera at the Telstra Mobile Code on the poster and scan the QR Code to open the mobile website.

But that’s not all a Telstra Mobile Code can do. As well as mobile websites, a Telstra Mobile Code can also reveal; hidden text, contact details that can be added direct to your mobile phone’s address book, or a pre-written SMS message, making it easier to enter competitions quickly - among many other things.

The Telstra Mobile Code Reader is free for Telstra 3G or Next G™ customers with a compatible mobile. Selected new Next G™ mobiles have the Code Reader built-in and compatible mobiles bought before July 2008 will soon be able to get the Code Reader too. Many Telstra Mobile Codes will lead you to content that is free to check out on your compatible Telstra 3G or Next G™ mobile.  Sometimes, however, Mobile Codes will take you to content, such as MySpace or YouTube pages, where data fees apply.
